Gyunel Fall Winter 2018 during Haute Couture Fashion Week
The Gyunel Fall Winter 2018 collection was presented on July 2nd 2018 during haute couture fashion week. Being held at the Westin Paris – Vendôme, you knew this was going to be a luxurious presentation and a sight to be seen. Looks were placed on mannequins which allowed for the true beauty of the designs to be appreciated without distraction. We were delighted designer Gyunel Rustamova was using some previous favorite inspiration and materials, swans and feathers, supporting the title of this season’s collection, “Cygnus Quartus”. The looks made us feel like we had been transported into a new fairytale land. Navy, sky blue, royal red, silver, metallic gold, white and black were used to paint the picture. Rustamova uses geometric shapes to sculpt the body, adding power to the designs. Many pieces had a bold structure to them, highlighting and drawing attention to the waste, that contributed a strong sense of femininity to the looks. A strapless gown made with a custom print of a cityscape located off a coast of water showing a starry night sky was a top look that was highlighted in this collection. Silk and lace were used and combined in dresses with added 3D details of feathers, jewels, and crystals that transported us to the Guynel world of couture.
